Ben Shields
After serving 10 years in the Air Force, Ben is now an aerospace engineer in the defence industry. He started property developing in 2018 and this was his second project. Now onto his fourth project, Ben recently started a property development company called Aventa Property.

Ben's second property development project was off to a flying start when this lot fell through at auction enabling him to purchase it at a great price!
With a background in aerospace engineering, he set himself a target to do a 1 into 3 subdivision while retaining the existing house and pool…
But then… Uh Oh… there was TURBULENCE to go through!!!
- construction took 4 months longer than expected… ouch!
- an additional $70k in variations… double ouch!!
- access to the middle lot didn’t include a truncation
- issues with neighbour for access easement over truncation
It seemed like he was hitting one headwind after another...
