'REAL DEAL'

Your Presentation

Presentation Length:

Aim for a presentation anywhere between 30 - 45 minutes long including questions.

Presentation PowerPoint Template:

You are free to use your own presentation deck if you have one, or here is a link to a PowerPoint template that may make things quicker for you, and it will easily slide into our master deck on the day.

If using your own slide deck then please ensure it is created in PowerPoint and that your slide size is set to "Widescreen" being the 16:9 ratio otherwise we will have problems with merging your content with our other presenters.

Here is a guide of what to include in your slides...

Please follow the headers of each slide of the template (link above) which will give you a guide as to the order of information to include. Below is also a more detailed list to cover off on throughout your presentation.

  • Mention what the project is, i.e how many Lots / units / stories / basement / car parks / etc
  • How the deal was found
  • Initial Site Analysis (Good / Bad / Unknown to investigate)
  • Have a single page with ALL of the problems
  • Any major problems probably a page in themselves with any lessons learned
  • Have a single page with ALL of the opportunities
  • Any major opportunities probably a page in themselves with lessons learned
  • Pics - Before, During & After (These can be spread through the presentation to make it more appealing)
  • Any specific photo's of the problems that you had
  • Feaso - including your projected feaso and actuals
  • Project Timeline (from start to end) - show this as an image if you can
  • Lessons Learnt

If you aren't sure if you are on the right track then feel free to send through a draft to us, and we can come back with some pointers.

Meeting Format

In case you haven't attended a Meetup event as yet or maybe haven't for some time, below you will find an overview of the meeting format.

Our meetings typically go for 3 hours and consist of 3 distinct sections, an Industry Expert, a Real Deal & finally a Masterminding process.

Our Industry Experts are people that our members typically would need in their team, with them giving guidance and advise on the relevant topic of the month. In the past we have had Town Planners, Civil Engineers, Property Lawyers, Accountants, Architects, University Lecturers, Project Managers, Experienced Developers, Property Managers, Financial Planners, Valuers, Brisbane City Council, Surveyors, Commercial Lenders & more. These experts love helping those with a thirst for knowledge and an attitude to succeed and we have been blessed with the quality of these speakers who keep lining up wanting to present at our group.

The Real Deals allows our members to learn from projects that others have done within our group. They get to see warts and all what went right, what went wrong and the profit that was able to be achieved out of the deal.

We typically finish with a Mastermind process with each person able to seek assistance from the collective knowledge of the group in how to overcome any current obstacles. Sometimes their problem might be as simple as not knowing where to start, or how to learn the development process, whilst other times it might be as complex as a specific problem that they are having within their current deal. Either way, the group is there to help, with all of us moving forward as a result.

Social Drinks Afterwards:

Once the meeting finishes we then kick on socially for drinks at the bar. There is no need to hang around for this if you have other things on, however it is always great fun and you are more than welcome to stay and join us if you are available.

Below is a video that gives an overview of what you can expect when attending our events.

What to Expect At Our Meetups

We began our events originally in Brisbane in 2012 and have now grown to the largest Property networking group Australia wide!  We now also hold monthly events in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and also in Perth !

Depending on the location we have anywhere from 50 - 100 people attending each event at present, with this growing each meeting.

Our attendees are typically smaller mum & dad developers doing anything from smaller 2 lot subdivisions to 6 pack town houses typically, but we do have some larger guys doing upwards of 30 units and similar sized townhouse developments and even some larger land subdivisions.
